Hungry For Climate Action

Are you Hungry for Climate Action?
Support or join the hunger strikers and fasters in nipaluna/Hobart in the lead up to COP26
WHEN:
12pm Friday 22nd Oct – 6pm Thurs 28th Oct
WHERE:
Parliament lawns, nipaluna/Hobart
WHY:
Throughout history, fasting has been a deeply personal, non-violent form of protest – a personal sacrifice, aiming to sound the alarm. We will be fasting in solidarity with people who are starving now and in the future due to the climate and ecological crisis. We demand that our governments respond to the climate CODE RED FOR HUMANITY & ACT NOW to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
WAYS TO PARTICIPATION:
There are several ways to participate in this protest, ranging from a continual fast (consuming only water, vitamins and minerals) to joining in for a 24 hr, 48 hr fast or alternate day fasting.
Participants must be fit and well and at no risk of harm from fasting. All are strongly encouraged to seek medical advice prior to fasting. Under 18’s are advised to fast for a max. 24 hours.
Fasting can be done on site with others, or as you go about your normal day.
Please let us know if you would like to participate.
